Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling my number or using the “Book a consultation” button at the bottom of this page or located throughout the website.

What kind of patients do you work with?

I generally work with adults from ages 18-60 who are dealing with a number of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship and identity issues, difficulties in school and work, etc. I welcome all ethnicities, genders, religions, and sexual preferences in my practice.

Do you prescribe medications AND do therapy?

Yes. As a psychiatrist, I prescribe medications for a number of different issues. I also do therapy with patients whether or not they are on psychiatric medications.

What is medication management?

Many clients often require treatment with medications. I work with patients to gather a thorough history of medication use and find what works best for them. Learn more about medication management.

What kind of therapy do you practice?

My general therapeutic modality is psychodynamic or psychoanalytic. This approach emphasizes understanding ourselves more deeply through speaking about our current relationships, childhood, and unconscious feelings. That being said, I do incorporate other approaches as needed to best help you. Read more about psychodynamic therapy.

How frequently do you meet for therapy?

I try to meet with my therapy clients at least weekly or sometimes even more frequently. There is a momentum that generally develops in therapy with weekly visits that is optimal for long term improvement.

How long does treatment last?

This is determined on a case by case basis and can vary for every individual. I am generally very transparent about the potential length of treatment but this is flexible and can change based on your stressors. I want to keep my doors open for any clients that feel that they may need to return at a later time.

Do you see clients virtually?

Yes. My preference is to see patients in-person but I do see patients virtually on an as needed basis. I understand that we live in a changing world where it can be difficult to find time outside of our work and home lives to see our doctors.

What are your fees?

Initial evaluation (75 minutes): $400. Medication management (25 minutes): $180. Therapy (50 minutes): $300. Therapy + medication management (50 minutes): $300.

Do you take health insurance?

No. I am an “out of network” provider meaning that I DO NOT take any commercial insurances. Payment is due at the time of service and I can provide you a super-bill to send to your insurance for reimbursement.

What is your cancellation policy?

You will be charged the full amount for cancellations within 48 hours of your appointment time. If you are able to reschedule within the same week based on availability, this charge will be waived.
