Medication management
Thoughtful psychiatric medication management
Medication management focuses on evaluating whether medication is appropriate for your mental health needs, prescribing when indicated, and monitoring your response over time. Appointments are focused, structured, and centered on your symptoms and overall wellbeing.
Dr. Masood takes a careful, individualized approach. He does not prescribe reflexively. Every recommendation is grounded in your full clinical picture: history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals.

How Dr. Masood approaches medication management
First visit
Initial psychiatric evaluation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation lasting approximately 90 minutes, covering psychiatric history, current symptoms, medical history, medications, and personal and family background. Based on this assessment, Dr. Masood discusses his clinical impressions and whether medication may be helpful.
Ongoing
Follow-up appointments
Follow-up visits are typically 30 minutes, scheduled more frequently when starting or adjusting a medication and less frequently once you are stable. These sessions focus on your response to treatment, side effects, and adjustments as needed.
Combined care
Medication and therapy together
Research consistently shows that a combination of medication and therapy produces better outcomes than either alone for many conditions. Dr. Masood can provide both, or coordinate with your existing therapist if you have one.
Access
Private pay and telehealth
Dr. Masood is a private-pay provider; a superbill is available for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Telehealth appointments are available via secure, HIPAA-compliant video for patients throughout Texas.
